Admission Regulations

Morning Study:

The student submits the following documents to the relevant authority:

  • The original high school graduation certificate, certified by the General Directorate of Education or a grade endorsement, along with a written commitment to register at the college.
  • 3 colored copies of the Iraqi civil status ID or the unified national card for the student, mother, and father.
  • 6 recent photos.
  • Medical examination form.
  • The student must be born in 1994 or later.
  • Students born in 1990 with a grade of 90% or higher.
  • The student must dedicate themselves fully to studying and cannot combine work and study (simultaneously) for all employees of state institutions.
  • Students cannot combine two programs of study, and if proven, their acceptance will be canceled.

Evening Study:

  • The original high school graduation certificate, certified by the General Directorate of Education or a grade endorsement, along with a written commitment to register at the college.
  • 3 colored copies of the Iraqi civil status ID or the unified national card for the student, mother, and father.
  • 6 recent photos.
  • Medical examination form.
  • Students cannot combine two programs of study, and if proven, their acceptance will be canceled.
  • Continuing morning study students are allowed to transfer to the corresponding evening study, subject to the college council's approval.
  • The same academic calendar as the morning study will be applied.

Admission Regulations for Special Categories:

Martyrs' Families:

  • Eligible categories include (victims of the crimes of the dissolved Ba'ath party, martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces, martyrs of military operations, and military errors), in addition to the wounded under Law (57 of 2015), only the wounded person.
  • Tuition fees for these categories are 50% of the fees for each department.
  • 5 additional points are added to the GPA of students applying to medical fields (general medicine, dentistry, pharmacy).
  • 8 additional points are added to the GPA for students applying to other disciplines.
  • Complete the electronic form for martyrs' families and visit the Martyrs' Institution for authentication.
  • Check the student's account daily to confirm the activation of the martyrs' family channel and ensure registration at the private university/college.

Political Prisoners:

  • Eligible categories include (prisoners, political detainees, those held in Rafha, or imprisoned, detained, or held under the Ba'athist regime).
  • The student is accepted with a 3-point difference from the announced minimum GPA for the programs, exclusively in evening studies.
  • Identification of eligible students is through the Prisoners' Institution only.
  • Check the student's account daily to confirm the activation of the political prisoners' channel.

Journalists:

  • The student must be born in 1994 or later.
  • Talented individuals in the field of media and its skills, who have 10 years of service in recognized media institutions, exclusively from graduates of all vocational studies branches, teacher institutes, and fine arts institutes, may apply through the journalist channel.
  • Graduates of Islamic studies or schools affiliated with the two religious endowments (Shiite and Sunni) and tourism and hotel management institutes (from the 2019-2020 academic year and earlier) cannot apply to this channel.
  • Authentication from the Journalists' Syndicate or the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission or the Iraqi Media Network is required to verify the student's service, after authentication by the media institutions they work with exclusively.
  • Students apply through the electronic form after it is activated by the Journalists' Syndicate.
  • The student must check their account daily to confirm the activation of this channel.

Security Personnel:

  • Eligible categories include (members of the armed forces, internal security forces, national intelligence agency, national security agency, Popular Mobilization Forces, Counter-Terrorism Service, and other security agencies).
  • Admission is exclusively in evening studies.
  • Graduates of the Police Commissioners Institute are accepted in evening studies only, in humanities colleges.
  • The accepted students must comply with the specified attendance requirements.
  • Students accepted under this channel are not allowed to switch to the morning study.
  • The Ministry of Interior confirms the approval of the senior official of the relevant department regarding non-objection to the applicant's participation in evening study.
  • Applicants from these categories, including graduates of vocational secondary education and technical diploma holders, are allowed to apply for evening studies.
  • Students apply through the electronic portal of the private university education department.

Top 30% Graduates from Institutes (Diploma Holders):

  • Graduates from institutes in related fields are accepted.
  • The top 30% in each specialization are calculated separately, with any fractions rounded in favor of the student.
  • Students cannot combine work and study in morning study.

Free Scholarship for Medical Group (General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy):

  • Application for the scholarship is done exclusively via an electronic interface that will be launched through the private university education department’s portal.
  • The students' data will be uploaded based on Ministry of Education records.
  • Students will use their exam number and password to retrieve their data within the system.
  • The student must be a graduate of the scientific branch (life sciences) for the 2023/2024 academic year.
  • Students with a GPA of 96% or above can apply for 10 different choices, while students with a GPA of 93% can apply for 6 different choices.
  • The student is subject to electronic selection based on GPA.
  • Verification of the student's privileges is required by universities and private colleges to compete for the free scholarship before the electronic registration process.
  • After completing the registration for the free scholarship, the student’s name will be removed from other admission channels within the private education portal.

Social Welfare Students:

  • Eligible categories include students or their parents (father, mother) registered in the Social Protection Registry.
  • Tuition fees are 50% of the department's fees for evening study only.

Quran Memorization Students:

  • Applies to all high school graduates.
  • Students admitted under the Quran memorization channel are exempt from tuition fees.
  • The student must pass a specialized international committee test issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and undergo a test annually at the start of each academic year to ensure continued memorization of the Quran. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the tuition fee exemption.

Application Process

Steps for Applying:

First Stage: Account Creation

  1. Download the application for the Department of Private University Education and enter the required information.
  2. Choose a username, password, and phone number (the system verifies that it has not been used previously).
  3. The system will take a live photo of the student.
  4. The system will scan the front side of the unified national card.
  5. The system will scan the back side of the unified national card.
  6. Once the personal photo matches the one on the national card, the system will create the account.

Second Stage: Filling Data

  1. Use the application to begin filling out the data.
  2. Log in through the account created in the first stage.
  3. Select the type of student.
  4. Enter the exam number.
  5. Ensure the accuracy of the data.
  6. Upload supporting files if available.
  7. Add the institute certificate if available.
  8. Enter the secret number.
  9. Complete the data verification.
  10. If the student wishes to erase all the information in their student account, they can do so through the application, as it is linked to their live photo.
  11. If the student needs verification requiring the Ministry of Higher Education or verification centers, they can make an appointment electronically.
  12. The student may apply to the specific channel through the "Special Channels" section and follow the instructions and requirements for each channel, as activation requirements differ from one channel to another.
