College of Islamic Sciences Holds Workshop on OMR Technology to Enhance Assessment and Testing Methods
The College of Islamic Sciences organized an introductory workshop on OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) technology, a modern system used to automatically read marked answers on answer sheets using a scanner, helping to accelerate data processing and improve accuracy of results.
The workshop explained the mechanism of OMR technology and its primary applications, particularly in multiple-choice exams, surveys, and evaluation forms, highlighting its role in reducing manual effort and enhancing accuracy and transparency in grading and analyzing results.
This workshop is part of the College’s efforts to keep pace with modern technological developments and employ them to serve the educational and administrative processes, thereby contributing to improving academic performance quality.
The session was presented by Assistant Lecturer Hassanein Al-Saffar, who reviewed both the theoretical and practical aspects of the technology and its significance in educational institutions.
